Solar boost for Tetra Pak’s sustainability drive
World-leading food packaging and processing solutions company Tetra Pak is on a sustainability mission. As an RE100 company, Tetra Pak has made the commitment to source 100 per cent of its energy from renewables by 2030.
By the beginning of 2019, 33 of Tetra Pak’s 56 production sites around the world were entirely run on green energy, and it enlisted the help of BayWa r.e. to continue its success story in Thailand.
We provide tailormade and integrated solutions across multiple international sites and borders. Our commercial clients include market leading retailers, financial services providers and global fast food chains.
With many businesses setting carbon reduction targets and committing to source increasing amounts of energy from renewables, they turn to us to transform commitments into reality.
Green energy delivered in time for Christmas
Today’s retailers have to work doubly hard to attract and retain consumers who are quick to compare and switch loyalties.
It’s no longer a decision based solely on price, as more and more customers make environmentally conscious choices on what they buy, and where they buy it.
Public Sector Solutions
We support the public sector helping organisations to reduce their energy costs and become more sustainable.
Whether providing solutions for single sites or across entire regions, we have worked with schools and colleges, hospitals, utility providers and directly for local governments.
Whatever your needs, objectives or budget, we have the expertise to help you.
When schools generate green energy
Together with BayWa r.e., the Brussels region is forging a new path when it comes to the sustainable energy supply of public buildings.
In the municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre in the east of the Belgian capital, a total of seven municipal buildings in seven different locations are being equipped with solar rooftop installations to help meet sustainability objectives and drive down energy costs.
It’s a story of collaboration and what can be achieved when committed parties come together to achieve shared goals. Once fully commissioned, the installations will produce approximately 635,000 KWh of green energy per year.
Through the BayWa Group, we have an in-depth understanding of the agricultural sector, its needs and the energy demands placed upon it.
Whether the objective is to reduce energy costs, become more self-sufficient or expand your business as an energy producer, we are working with farmers all over the world to deliver renewable energy solutions that are helping to transform rural economies.
European agro-industries go green
In energy intensive industries the potential for renewable energy to reduce costs and emissions is significant.
In Spain, we’ve delivered a ground-breaking project with the Pastores Grupo Cooperativo – one of the country’s largest sheep farming cooperatives.
Part of the European Commission’s SCOoPE project, it aims to transfer good practices and energy efficiency to European agro-industries; especially cooperatives. It is BayWa r.e’s first self-consumption commercial and industrial (C&I) project in Spain, and is one of the first for the country.
Weak- and Off-grid Solutions
We are global specialists in weak- and off-grid solutions. From combined solar and battery storage to diesel-hybrid-systems, we are working within developed countries and emerging economies to deliver green energy to remote and weak grid locations all over the world.
We are helping industries, businesses and communities to evolve, develop and become more self-sufficient. Directly supporting sustainable economic growth.
Creating new futures for Australia’s remote communities
While many of us take reliable supplies of power for granted, for remote communities in off and weak grid areas, availability can be a real challenge.
In Australia, we’re proud to have been part of the A$40m Remote Indigenous Energy Program (RIEP). It formed part of the Government’s Clean Energy Future plan and its objective was to install renewable energy systems in 15 remote Aboriginal communities.
The scheme changed lives by helping communities to gain access to affordable and reliable 24-hour green power supplies. And directly contributed to an improvement in health, education and their long-term economic future.
