Solar Distribution

BayWa r.e. increasingly focuses on sales cooperations for the marketing of photovoltaic systems: Since the spring of 2016 the company has already enabled 25 municipal utilities the quick and easy access to supplying PV systems and storage solutions to end customers.

“The demand for distributed energy supply solutions is higher than ever. The fact that we have been able to gain so many energy providers as partners within the space of a year has encouraged us to continue developing our full service offer and to play an active part in the development of the renewables market in this segment,” comments Günter Haug, Managing Director of BayWa r.e. “We are planning to work with another 25 public utilities by the end of 2017. With our sales cooperations we focus on the sustainable development of home power generation for private use in Germany.”

In addition to providing the required distribution resources and marketing materials, BayWa r.e. assists its cooperation partners together with regional professional tradesmen with the planning and assembly of the systems which are offered to the end customer with the option to either buy or lease the system. In this context, the company offers a wide range of solar modules, inverters and storage solutions. One of the company’s latest cooperation partners is medl, based in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. Within its wide and innovative range of products and services, the energy provider now also offers solar panels and storage units to his customers. Jan Hoffmann, Head of Sales at medl GmbH, stresses: “By working closely with BayWa r.e., we are adding another pillar to our range of sustainable energy services. This is our response to the increasing demand for photovoltaic solutions and the fact that many of our customers want to reduce their exposure to increasing energy prices.”

BayWa r.e. accompanies the public utilities through the entire process of working with a customer: An online planning tool on the energy provider's website that was developed in-house enables end customers to configure a PV system which is tailored to their requirements. This is followed up with an individual consultation and planning service provided by a professional installer from

BayWa r.e’s extensive network across Germany who will also carry out the expert installation of the photovoltaic system. In addition, the online processing platform also enables the accurate control and tracking of the individual processing steps.
