Study Design
The APAC Energy Research survey was conducted between November 24, 2022 and December 15, 2022 among 346 energy decision-influencers at organisations with 100 or more employees across the APAC. Online survey methodology was employed.
Results of any sample are subject to sampling variation. The magnitude of the variation is measurable and is affected by the number of interviews and the level of the percentages expressing the results.
In this particular study, the chances are 95 in 100 that a survey result does not vary, plus or minus, by more than 7 percentage points from the result that would be obtained if interviews had been conducted with all personas in the universe represented by the sample. The margin of error for any subgroups will be higher.
About the study sample
All survey respondents work at companies with a minimum of 100 employees in Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, The Philippines, and Vietnam, and around 30% of respondents work at companies with 500 or more employees. The survey reached energy decision-makers across a wide range of industries, with the largest group in manufacturing (25%), and wholesale and retail (11%). Only 2% of respondents work within the energy industry.
Majority of respondents in East Asia (48%) identify with playing an influential role in making renewable energy decisions, while 43% from Oceania identify with having substantial involvement in these activities. Respondents who identify with having sole responsibility for making relevant decisions came largely from Southeast Asia (27%).
Demographically, respondents were equally split between identified male (51%) and female (49%). The age of respondents was widely distributed with the mean age being between 25 and 34 years old (38%), and the median age between 35 and 44 years old.
