Healthy employees working in safe environments
People
We want all of our employees to be mentally and physically healthy. This is paramount to our management and fundamental to our values. We also expect our employees to take responsibility for their safety and those around them using their knowledge, skills and training. We achieve this through clear instructions and responsibilities on our sites and premises. People working on behalf of BayWa r.e. are regularly trained.
Planet
We plan, control, maintain, and check that our equipment, plant, and facilities are safe and that hazards are managed for contractors and employees. New tools, equipment and processes are introduced only after assessing the risks to health, safety, environment and quality. We achieve this through effective risk assessments and proactive procurement policies.
Process
We use continuously reviewed procedures to achieve high HSE management standards in all aspects of our business. Our HSE Manual is the platform for managing our HSE arrangements, developing targets and operational controls and meeting business objectives, verified through periodic monitoring and audits. Clear communication is pivotal in promoting the HSE Objectives set out in this policy. We achieve this communication through regular, well-prepared meetings, peer reviews, and regular bulletins from the entire HSE community.
Performance
Our high-performance standards are reviewed regularly, ensuring we comply with all industry regulations. We aim to eliminate hazards, reduce HSE risks, and follow best practice procedures. Management drives an ongoing programme of continuous improvement, measured through KPIs put in place for all elements of HSE to improve performance.
To support this framework, we use Cority and BIC (GBTEC) to manage and streamline our HSE Management System. These tools increase transparency, improve data quality, and help us track compliance and performance more effectively across all of our locations.
