BayWa r.e. and Rheinland Solar deploy a 10 MWh BESS to maximise self-consumption

BayWa r.e. Solar Energy Systems GmbH, part of BayWa r.e. Solar Trade, and Rheinland Solar GmbH are deploying a battery energy storage system with a capacity of 10 MWh for Pfalzmarkt für Obst und Gemüse eG in Mutterstadt. The solution enables excess solar energy that would otherwise be curtailed to be stored and used when needed, significantly increasing the self-consumption of the existing PV system.
