BayWa r.e. has completely redesigned its self-developed planning tool Solar-Planit and is making the expanded, web-based version available for free for installation planning.

Starting now, the tool can be used to plan entire PV installations – from mounting system design and inverter layout to economic efficiency calculations and installation documentation.

“As a photovoltaics wholesaler with more than 25 years of expertise in the solar industry, we take for granted that we need to continuously develop our service and product portfolio. To provide our customers with top-quality support when it comes to planning their PV installations, we have now updated our online tool Solar-Planit. The updated version guides installers step-by-step through the planning process and makes the planning of PV installations easy and transparent in only a matter of minutes”, explains Günter Haug, Managing Director at BayWa r.e.

In the first step, the user-friendly tool helps installers to enter the required project data and to plan the mounting system for the selected solar module. Solar-Planit also automatically recommends the corresponding inverters and suitable battery storage systems. Based on this planning data, the upgraded program then creates yield forecasts and ascertains the economic efficiency of the installation. In the last step, Solar-Planit generates neat installation documentation, which can be used during meetings with end customers. This way, installers can plan an entire PV installation effectively and comprehensively in only a few minutes.

BayWa r.e. is also optimising its novotegra mounting system: A variation of the base rail with 20 mm thick pads facilitates unhindered roof drainage with rails mounted perpendicular to the roof pitch. This will make the mounting of flat roof systems even more flexible in the future.
