New training centre in Bordeaux
“As the French solar installer market continues to evolve, and businesses and homeowners look to take advantage of new products and systems, such as home storage, the need for installers to have access to high quality training is crucial”, comments Julien Chirol, Sale Manager for BayWa r.e. in France.
Following the French government’s approval of a solar self-consumption law earlier last year, installers are not only seeing an increase in residential solar energy installations but also a rise in the use of home battery storage systems.
“Training not only helps installers to stay ahead of the competition but also to advise customers on new technologies, and thereby proactively helping to drive the market forwards”, continues Julien.
“Through our new training facility, we will be able to expand our training provision for installers on the latest products and systems. The demand is already there. A recent seminar series we ran on ‘self-consumption’ attracted over 100 installers. But, at the moment, there is a lack of training on offer within the market, and that could soon start to have a damaging effect.”
BayWa r.e. is one of the largest system suppliers in the European wholesale photovoltaic market and has established close partnerships with leading manufacturers including LG, Huawei, Train and SMA.
In addition to the new training centre, BayWa r.e. is also bringing in two new trainers to focus on the subjects of power storage and its own, recently ETN certified, ‘novotegra’ mounting system.
“Around the world, we know the crucial role training plays in this fast-paced market for our installer customers. And how it helps to put them in the best possible position to advise their customers”, adds Günter Haug, Managing Director of BayWa r.e
“The French market is developing rapidly. And through our new training facility we can better support installers through more hands-on training, advice on new products and by suggesting solutions to issues they are finding out in the field. It is now crucial that the quality and amount of available training across France keeps pace with the evolving market and installers can get the support they need.”
BayWa r.e.’s next seminar series will focus on self-consumption for commercial and industrial customers as well as residential storage and be running from March. For more information on the seminars or to enquire about training please contact solarsystems(at)baywa-re.fr
