BayWa r.e. sells 12 MW wind farm in France to Omnes Capital
The wind farm with a total output of 12 MW consists of 6 Enercon wind turbines of type E82 with a hub height of 108 metres. In 2013, the wind turbines were equipped with "trailing edge serrations". The comb-like rotor blade add-ons provide a significant reduction in sound emissions. Since its commissioning in 2011, BayWa r.e. has been responsible for both technical and commercial operations. The company will continue to ensure the smooth operation of the wind farm following the sale. Matthias Taft, Board Member of BayWa AG, responsible for the energy business, commented: "Due to our extensive experience, we’ve been able to optimise the operation of the project to further improve efficiency. After selling the St. Fraigne wind park, we will continue to be responsible for its operation and maintenance as part of our ongoing and successful partnership with Omnes Capital."
In total, BayWa r.e. has already erected and commissioned five wind farms in France, with a total output of 74 MW. In addition, the company is currently managing the technical and commercial operations for wind and solar farms on the French market totalling 200 MW.
Serge Savasta, Managing Partner and Head of Infrastructure at Omnes Capital, added: “The acquisition by Capenergie 3 of the St. Fraigne wind farm from BayWa r.e. is the result of a fruitful partnership between our companies that was initiated in August last year with the closing of the St. Congard transaction. Our business model has always been based on long-term partnerships with developers and independent power producers and we now look forward to deepening our cooperation with renewable expert BayWa r.e. in 2017.”
