BayWa r.e. sells second section of 61 MW Obernwohlde wind farm to SUSI Renewable Energy FUND II
Following the sale of the first six wind turbines in December 2015, BayWa r.e. has now also sold the second section of the Obernwohlde wind farm to the investment fund SUSI Renewable Energy Fund II, advised by SUSI Partners.
With a total output of 61 MW, the wind farm, located north-east of Lübeck, is the largest that BayWa r.e. has realised in Germany to date. With an annual power production of around 130,000 MWh, the plant will supply over 41,000 households in the future with clean energy.
The first section of the wind farm with six turbines was sold to the SUSI Renewable Energy Fund II in December 2015. The wind turbines in the second section are set to be fully commissioned by April 2017.
Matthias Taft, Board Member of BayWa AG, responsible for the energy business, expressed his satisfaction at the third joint project with SUSI Partners: "Following the sales in 2015 of the first section of Obernwohlde and the Pingewood solar farm in the UK, this sale of the second construction section furthers our partnership with SUSI. It demonstrates once again how much our partners value the high quality standards of our projects and our many years of experience as a full service provider."
BayWa r.e. is responsible for the technical and commercial operations management of all 20 turbines at the wind farm, as well as for the energy trading of the green power generated.
