BayWa r.e. design software Creotool 2.0: Best of 2015 in innovation and industry categories
The PV sizing software, Creotool 2.0, from BayWa r.e. received two awards this year from 'Initiative Mittelstand' for SMEs. Creotool is officially among the organisation's 'Best of 2015' in the IT industry and IT innovation prize categories, so has pride of place on both lists. Last year, this software featured in the industry awards list, and in 2013 in the innovation list.
This year, the industry and innovation prizes are being awarded for the tenth time. A top panel of experts selected those products that provided 'the greatest benefit technologically, economically, ecologically and socially'. Initiative Mittelstand also recognised companies with innovative IT solutions and those providing substantial benefit to SMEs.
Günter Haug, Managing Director of BayWa r.e., said of the two awards: "There were a record number of submissions for the Initiative Mittelstand innovation and industry prizes in 2015 – some 5000 in all. So we're really thrilled to have made the top 20 this time, not just once but twice. The fact we were named as one of the 'Best of 2015' is testament to our high quality standards and also our ability to innovate. In all this we continue to focus on our customers and their requirements". The IT 'best of' lists feature leading information and communications technology providers, and act as important navigational aids for many key IT decision makers.
Creotool 2.0 web-based PV engineering software significantly reduces the time and money required for solar projects. It allows several users to work on a single project, free of time and geographical restrictions. This software is intuitive and permits quick, precise planning even where the style of roof or module array is an uneven shape. The package also offers optimised structural and materials engineering based on wind tunnel testing, even for flat roofs.
A key feature is the Google roof function, which allows any style of roof or object casting shading to be captured by a few clicks of the mouse. New to Creotool 2.0 is the automatic display of the Google image of the project site. This image is back-projected behind the installation system and provides a good reference guide for the sizing process. Alternatively, the Fastdraw function can provide, as a template, any photos or drawings you wish to upload – which you can copy with just a few quick clicks of the mouse. This is just one of so many features which set Creotool 2.0 apart from other engineering software.
