BayWa r.e. implements rooftop PV system in Bruchsal with 1 MWp
At the end of March, BayWa r.e. commissioned a further PV system with a total output of 1 MWp. The rooftop system is located on the multi-storey car park of a shopping centre in Bruchsal, Baden-Wuerttemberg.
Installation of the system took place in the course of the building's construction and was carried out in close coordination with the car park's construction management. This allowed the PV system to be commissioned after a completion period of less than six weeks, even before the car park was finished. The 3846 solar modules are forecast to generate around 990,000 kWh of solar power per year, resulting in a CO2 saving of more than 597 tons.
The full amount of generated power will be exported to the grid and remunerated in line with the market premium model of the Renewable Energy Sources Act. Energy trading will also be the responsibility of BayWa r.e. Matthias Taft, Managing Director of BayWa r.e and board member of BayWa AG for the sector Energy summarises: "By implementing this project we are demonstrating that there are still profitable solar power solutions available for businesses, despite the current framework set by the new energy policy. By optimising system planning we were able to keep installation costs low, without having to deviate from our high quality standards."
