BayWa r.e. passes price reductions for BayWa green electricity and eco gas on to customers
For the second time this year, BayWa r.e. is passing the savings resulting from lower procurement costs and partially reduced network usage fees for green electricity and eco gas on to its customers. This means that since April 2015, the use of green energy is cheaper for the majority of new customers. Individual price adjustments depend on the development of local network fees.
BayWa r.e. customers have already enjoyed price reductions for green electricity and eco gas at the start of the year. The current benefit is the result of the lower Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) surcharge for subsidising renewable energy. At the start of 2015 it fell from 6.24 to 6.17 ct/kWh. The development of the EEG account is continuing on a positive course: A balance of €4.2 billion was reported on 1 March. The downswing in the procurement costs for green electricity and eco gas is also set to continue. BayWa r.e. will continue to pass on any cost savings to the customers in the future.
The BayWa r.e. Group was awarded the "Energy transition pioneer" certificate by the TÜV SÜD certification body in autumn 2014. The consumer group Stiftung Öko-Test once again rated the product BayWa Ökostrom 12 as "very good". BayWa Ökoenergie secured one of the top spots among the 30 tested energy providers, mainly due to its customer-friendly service, reasonable prices and 12-month price guarantee.
