BayWa r.e. sells 16.8 MW wind farm in Lower Saxony to IWB
BayWa r.e. sold the Hamwiede wind farm in Lower Saxony to the German subsidiary of the Swiss utility Industrielle Werke Basel (IWB). BayWa r.e. will continue to be responsible for technical and commercial operations, as well as for the energy trading of the green electricity generated.
Matthias Taft, Chairman of the BayWa r.e. BayWa r.e. developed this project jointly with Plan 8 GmbH, Eckernförde. The seven 2.4 MW turbines made by Nordex will enter service early 2015.
Together with its predecessors, BayWa r.e. can draw on more than 25 years of experience in the renewables market and constantly strives to match its portfolio to current market conditions. BayWa r.e. has been energy trading according to the Renewable Energy Sources Act as early as 2013, as well as engaging in regulated trading in power generated by renewable energy plants.
