BayWa green electricity rated "very good" by Öko-Test
For the second time running, German consumer magazine Öko-Test has awarded BayWa green electricity its top score of "very good". Having won previously in 2013, BayWa has again claimed one of the top positions in the test, with its "BayWa Ökostrom 12" tariff.
In the current special edition of Öko-Test on environment and energy, only twelve of the 28 green electricity products tested achieved an overall rating of "very good". BayWa's product stands out for being the lowest priced tariff amongst the "very good" providers, for its twelve-month price guarantee and for the high quality of its green electricity from exclusively renewable sources.
"We are delighted to have once again been rated a top provider for green electricity," states Matthias Taft, Chairman of the Management Board of BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH. "We see this test result as a confirmation of our activities in the field of renewable energies and as an incentive to remain one of the leading providers in terms of quality and price."
In addition to the tariffs and terms of contract, the test also looks at how independent the provider is from conventional electricity. The "ok-power" label is a guarantee for both testers and consumers that BayWa green electricity is 100 % green. This quality seal is an important guide for consumers on the green electricity market. It is awarded by the Öko-Institut Freiburg and the Verbraucherzentrale NRW consumer rights group. For consumers selecting a green provider, it guarantees effective environmental protection and a high degree of transparency regarding the generation of green electricity.
