Commercial Asset Manager (m/f) - maternity cover until October 2018


  • Day to day financial management of renewable assets, including ensuring liabilities met as fall due, VAT recording and reporting, performance of financial controls, and ensuring revenue received promptly under terms of power purchase agreements.
  • Support of the Project Managers in ensuring the company operates in compliance with the guidelines set out in the BayWa r.e. UK Management System, and that it delivers excellent technical service quality.
  • Stakeholder management and reporting, including provision of and discussion in relation to regular management accounts, budgets, cash-flows, and forecasts to external owners of asset as required; attendance and facilitation of Board Meetings, and dealing with ad hoc queries.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and year end statutory accounts.
  • Liaising with external auditors to manage and assist the audit requirements of the solar and wind assets under management.
  • Working with project managers in Germany and local teams in Edinburgh to ensure the set-up of appropriate processes to ensure good management of existing assets and a smooth handover of new assets coming online.


  • Professionally Qualified Accountant (ICAS / ICAEW / ACCA or equivalent).
  • Several years’ experience of working for either a finance / asset management team, or coming from an accountancy / audit practice background.
  • Proven track record of reporting deliverables to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of reviewing work produced by colleagues and external sources.
  • Prior experience of accounting software used for SMEs, SAGE Line 50 in particular preferred.
  • Experienced with preparing year end statutory accounts.
  • Familiarity preparing / reviewing month end and year end journals.
  • Comfortable reviewing and working with contracts.
  • Prior experience of financial controls and VAT reporting.
  • Prior experience of reviewing and considering tax computations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative working style, persuasive and clear communication skills.
  • Flexible skill-set and enthusiasm for a varied role.

One year maternity cover (until October 2018), with the expectation of progressing to a permanent role.
