We are looking for!

Since 2016 the BayWa r.e. group has been active in Australia and to date has invested in a solar PV wholesaler in Perth, has acquired over 200 MW of solar PV projects in Victoria and Queensland and is in the process of setting up a head office in Melbourne to cover all its wind and solar project and service activities. The project team in Melbourne will comprise a mix of existing BayWa r.e. employees as well as locally-hired staff. To support this new business in establishing its market presence and delivering strong financial results in line with BayWa r.e. group requirements, we are currently looking for a

 

Financial Controller (m/f)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage external service provider(s) and any internal finance staff to effectively oversee all aspects of bookkeeping, tax filings and reporting of operating entities and project companies in Australia (covering wind & solar)
  • Ensure the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts are prepared and reported in an efficient and timely manner to meet tight deadlines for all entities in Australia and reporting to BayWa r.e. group
  • Liaise with service provider(s) to prepare year-end financial statements and statutory reports under Australian GAAP and IFRS, the latter for consolidation with BayWa r.e. Holding
  • Prepare monthly cash-flow forecasts and quarterly forecasts to headquarters
  • Manage day-to-day cash management and payments
  • Responsible for internal financial controls, preparing audit documentation and coordinating with the external auditor in relation to the annual audit to ensure that financial statements are submitted on time and in full to the headquarters and local authorities
  • Controlling of all the project-related costs and expenses under project companies and provide support to the Project team in this matter
  • In collaboration with management, prepare three year forecasts/budgets for the Australian business in line with BayWa r.e. Group requirements
  • Working with management to provide financial information to support decision making

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Qualified Australian accountant
  • At least 3 years’ experience of working within a finance team, ideally in an international business context and with people management experience
  • Collaborative working style
  • Persuasive and clear communication skills
  • Flexible skill set and enthusiasm for a varied role
  • Organised and detail oriented but with an eye on the bigger picture
